DESCRIPTION:
The 2011 Mini Cooper S receives a slight increase in power output, modified steering for reduced torque steer under hard acceleration, minor cosmetic changes inside and out, optional adaptive headlights, reworked radio controls, standard HD and satellite radio, and added sound insulation. Compared with the Cooper, the Cooper S has a sportier suspension.

If you thought the MINI Cooper S was a little bit girly, perhaps a little on the soft side, you can think again, the MINI Cooper S is definitely capable of scaring the pants off even the most rugged goaty-growing, Mustang-drinking V8 petrol head. Like all MINIs, it feels much faster though, and with a curb weight of just under 2,700 lbs the thrust from the turbo will keep you excited well above anything remotely legal.

The Cooper S has a 1.6L engine turbocharged good for 181 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque (192 lb-ft at full throttle thanks to an overboost function). Mini estimates 0-60 mph acceleration in 6.6 seconds. EPA estimated fuel economy 26/34/29.
