At the center of this beast is the 4th-generation 5.0L Coyote V8, now enhanced with dual air intakes and twin throttle bodies. The chassis is more responsive, offering better cornering than previous generations. The ride is generally comfortable, though firm, and features a "drift brake" electronic handbrake for track use.

The 4th-generation 5.0L engine now features dual air intakes and throttle bodies. It produces 480 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque, which bumps to 486 hp and 418 lb-ft with the optional active-valve exhaust. The automatic is notably faster, achieving 0–60 mph in 3.7 to 3.9 seconds
